The Jesse Wars
God forbid that I should pay much attention to political blogging these days. However, I do wonder why Steve Gilliard created an entire post decrying people for "whining" that their blogs weren't good enough to read. Or something.
If I remember correctly (and odds are, I don't, but that has never stopped me before), I think Jesse (of Gotham City 13 and now Republican Sinners fame) made some kind of post about Atrios. Or something. Which has now turned into some kind of open warfare between Steve Gilliard and...I don't know, somebody. Jesse? Tas? Bueller?
As the Danish Prince might have said, "Steve Gilliard doth protest too much, methinks." Really, I don't know which is more pathetic...that Steve wasted an entire post on a minor opponent, or that after "nine years ...to build up an audience and then two years of further work to develop an audience which liked reading me. And that is with over 3,000 posts, minus two months in the hospital. Seven days a week, every day. Posting at midnight, every night I'm home, even if I want to watch BBC America or Fox Soccer Channel...." that Gilliard feels so insecure that he has to put his CV on line in an effort to blow someone who gets maybe 1/100th of his readership out of the water.
One of two things will happen. Either his hidden assailant will slink away into the night, leaving tumbleweeds where a small (if humble) blog with delusions of grandeur once stood. Or his assailant will be emboldened, and Gilliard will have to struggle with the tick that has sunk its fangs into his ankle, and threatens not to let go. And from such bites ticks grow strong.
All I know is, I want to know who pissed Gilliard off so badly. That blog has GOT to be a great read, if for the humor alone.
