We Wuv John Kerry!
Well, my wife wuvs him. Or, probably like me, doesn't love him that much, but hates Boy George even more.
So, my wife purchased a "John Kerry for President Sign". The reason she gave for the purchase was an honest one. Our neighbors in our Tennessee suburb have their signs up: "Another Family Supporting President Bush and The Troops", and a huge "Bush/Cheney '04" sign that requires PVC pipe to hold it up.
We got tired of looking at those damned signs every day.
So, we got the John Kerry sign. And, of course, wouldn't you know it, but there were no steel rods, or holders, or indeed, anything to make the sign self-supporting. (I guess it provides a more literal sense to the phrase "John Kerry supporter".)
I hate to put tape on a sign, since that makes it look cheesy. So we propped the sign in our bay window. During the day, you can make it out; at night, it becomes a little harder.
And the reaction of the neighbors? Nothing at all. If they have any thoughts, they're keeping them to themselves. However, I noticed that the PVC guy just mowed his lawn and for the first time ever, I see the Bush/Cheney sign has been moved to the garage. Another newly undecided voter?

Off Line
I got word that my father passed away. I'm okay. I'm off to Kentucky for a while, at least a week.
If I don't show up for a while, you know why.
